Book Description. The current state and perspectives in natural and life sciences are strongly linked to the development of novel complex organic-inorganic materials at various levels of organization, including semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) and QD-based nanostructures with unique optical and physico-chemical properties. Hybrid nanostructures are nanoparticles which incorporate two or more structures. These structures may represent organic or inorganic material, but they synergistically improve the application of the material for end users. Hybrid Nanostructures for Cancer Theranostics explores how hybrid nanostructures are used in cancer treatment. Furthermore, employing other different alkali halide substitutes, we demonstrate a fine-tuning of the metal-organic nanostructures at the sub-Å scale.
